Stunning Art Work: Ryu Mizunagi won the Kodnasha Four Seasons Award for Comics based on the design found in her pilot to Witchcraft Works. The art is gorgeous. It is also very creative in how it renders magic for all of the witches featured. The designs are also very much in tune with comic styles seen in North American indie comics, such as Scott Pilgrim and SAGA.
Supernatural Romance: Part fantasy action title, part romance comedy - Witchcraft Works is has elements seen in works like Twilight and Negima, where young adults develop their romance and friendships through their supernatural interactions.
Media Crossover: Witchcraft Works has recently been adapted into an animated TV series. The animation is currently being broadcast weekly in Japan, the US and Germany. According to AnimeNews Network, Witchcraft Works was ranked the #3 anime in the US for Spring 2014 (based on viewer surveys). Episodes are also available through streaming services such as Hulu and Crunchyroll.
